Dan Collins, Oliver Duffy, Peter Fitch, Chris Jackson, Antje Lenhart, Matt Reeve and Marijn van Cappelle all acted as demonstrators/co-leaders during the MSc Petroleum Geoscience fieldtrip to Utah and Texas. The Utah leg of the trip was led by Gary Hampson.
Marijn van Cappelle is currently undertaking fieldwork on the Sego Sandstone in the Book Cliffs, Utah, USA. Howard Johnson, Peter Allison, Gary Hampson and Daniel Collins have joined him in the field for discussion, and Marijn is being assisted in the field by Julia Beckert (Imperial College Carbonate Research Group) and Menno Hofstra (University of Leeds). Marijn is investigating the facies architecture of the transition from channalized to unconfined flow at the delta front of tide-dominated deltaic systems.
Well done all!
The Basins Research Group (BRG) at Imperial College London focuses on the geodynamic, struc-tural, and stratigraphic evolution of sedimentary basins. This range of ac-tivities is centred around a multidisciplinary group of Earth Scientists who are committed to understand-ing the fundamental geo-logical processes opera-ting in evolving sediment-ary basins, and the application of this under-standing to determining the nature, origin and occurrence of natural resources (see Themes).
