Chris Jackson visited the University of Liverpool to visit Dan Faulkner and Pete Burgess to discuss ongoing collaborative research in the areas of geological controls on CO2 storage and stratigraphic forward modelling, respectively.
Rebecca Bell, Chris Jackson, Dylan Rood and Alex Whittaker met with Joanna Faure Walker (UCL) and Gerald Roberts (Birkbeck) (17th June) to discuss collaborative research related to the growth of normal faults and associated earthquake hazards.
Leonardo Muniz Pichel of the University of Manchester visited ESE (13th-17th June) to work with Chris Jackson on the salt tectonics of the Santos Basin, offshore SE Brazil. His work will focus on the stratigraphic record of horizontally translating minibasins, with this work complimenting his ongoing research on the salt tectonics of the Moroccan continental margin. Anette Broch Mathisen Tvedt, a PhD student of Chris Jackson’s based at the University of Bergen, successfully completed her PhD (The Geometry and Evolution of Supra-Salt Normal Fault Arrays). Congratulations Dr Tvedt!
Marijn van Cappelle & Onyenau God'Spower spent one week in Colorado & Utah doing fieldwork on the sedimentology and origin of some shallow marine sandstone bodies, which are seemingly isolated within offshore mudstones.

Carl Jacquemyn presented at the AAPG GTW on Exploring and Exploiting Carbonate reservoirs (https://europeevents.aapg.org/ehome/143363/home/) in Bari (Italy) with several contributions on sedimentology-fracture-related karst, 3D geostatistics and storm scour heterogeneity.
Craig Magee gave a talk the Passive Margins conference at Royal Holloway entitled 'Igneous activity and continental break-up offshore NW Australia'.
MSc Petroleum Geoscience field trip to Utah led by Chris Jackson, Gary Hampson and Lidia Lonergan. This trip focused on sequence stratigraphy, clastic sedimentology, structural geology and salt tectonics amidst spectacular world-class outcrops and exposures.

Whilst in the USA, Susie Maidment spent a week studying a new stegosaur in the Museum of the Rockies, in Bozeman, Montana.
