The BRG popped in to the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Late September for the 8th Petroleum Geology of NW Europe Conference. The group attended a suite of discussions by PGS to 'experience the North Sea with Geostreamer' on the Monday morning, and saw a friendly face in the form of ex-BRG member, Stefano Patruno.
Chris Jackson and Alex Coleman then presented some work to the wider conference community over the following days:
Chris Jackson (oral presentation)
'Syn-rift exploration challenges in the northern North Sea'.
Alex Coleman (poster presentation)
'The Geometry and Evolution of Fault-Propagation Folds in Salt-Influenced Rift Basins: An Example from Offshore Mid-Norway'.
In addition, Mads Huuse (University of Manchester) presented a talk on 'injectite stratigraphy', while Nick Schofield (Aberdeen University) gave a presentation on 'intrusive and extrusive sequences'. Both talks discussed the wider implications for North Sea hydrocarbons.
